Business Development within Super B is the discipline that focuses on long term business growth. It is looking at growth, and growth opportunities. Business Development has a strategic role and provides relevant information to the Management Team that will enable the Management Team in their strategic decision making. When determining our strategy, the MT is looking at:
- Endowment (current state), so size of our company, P&L and debt level/ work capital, (R&D) Investments and their ROI,
- Trends, so Industry trends including growth in economic profits, macro economic developments, and Geographic trends (which markets are attractive), and finally
- Moves, e.g. is our gross margin on par, are we improving labor productivity, improving quality, and cutting costs (better than our competitors), is there a good allocation of resources, is our capital expenditure on par, in what direction is technology moving, is our proposition differentiating enough?
In order for the Management Team to execute this function, they need high quality (market) research to underpin solid decision making. Business Development can deliver this output by being knowledgeable in multiple domains; they need business acumen and expertise in R&D, Marketing, Production, and Sales. Business Development distinguishes itself from Sales and Marketing because of a long term perspective. Sales and Marketing are working mostly on current demand and deliverables (scope 0-2 years), whereas Business Development tries to spot new chances in the market.
Our Business Development team is currently comprised of 2 people. You will be leading this team. You will make use of their strengths whilst whilst drawing up your vision and looking at our future challenges. You will be translating future challenges into the steps we need to take to keep the momentum of the energy transition.

Responsibilities
- Lead and Inspire a team of business researchers
- Create, monitor and communicate our roadmap
- Lead research projects that will lead to new designs, products and processes
- Establish network within European Committees and other regulatory bodies
- Develop conceptual plans for new products including budgets and capacity planning in close collaboration with Sales and Engineering.Improve internal work processes and the tools and methodologies used
- Reviewing team’s work for accuracy of estimations
- Attend fairs and visit customers
- Align with other Managers, staff, and sometimes suppliers
Skills and attitude
- Master Degree in a technical field combined with a business study
- Preferably at least 3 years of experience leading a team in a high tech environment
- Well-developed analytical skills, including IT skills and simulations
- Excellent Interpersonal skills such as coaching and communicative skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Innovative, Analytical, Organized, Social, and easy to get along with.
